Alberton, Vic - 4700 m2

In this project Greenworks designed and installed a heating system for HVP's containerized nursery project.  The heating system was unique in that it used a cheap source of fuel, wet sawdust.  While the heating plant is more complex, the client has the benefit of using an otherwise waste product to considerably lower annual energy costs.  The wet sawdust fuel is delivered from the local sawmill in semi trailers and tipped into a concrete fuel bunker.  From there, the system automatically shifts the fuel through three augers, and into a furnace where it is combusted.  The combustion products heat the water in a water heater, pass through a multiclone where they are cleaned of grit and then out a stack.  The hot water is pumped via a mixing unit into a pipe network in the greenhouse, which in turn heats the greenhouse environment through upper and lower heating zones.
